Mpolai is currently a senior internal audit manager for the Standard Bank Group managing the Digital Banking and Vehicle and Asset Financing portfolios. Mpolai won the 2016 Standard Bank Group Internal Audit Mark of Excellence (MOE) award for excellent stakeholder engagement and people development. This award is bestowed on the Top 5 internal auditors within the Standard Bank Group across a staff complement of 260 members.

She is a council and Audit and Risk Committee member for Ekurhuleni West TVET College appointed by the Minister of Higher Education. She is also the chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee for the SA Board for People Practice and was nominated for the 2018 Rising Stars Awards for her contribution in that role.
