Ben qualified as a chartered accountant (CA) in 1989, He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom (FCCA), a Chartered Director (CD) of the Institute of Directors, a member of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA), a member of the Association of Black Chartered Accountants of South Africa (ABASA) and an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
Ben has extensive practical and commercial experience, ranging from consulting on various governance and technical aspects to directly interacting with business. He has also served as a director and audit committee member of listed and non-listed companies in various industries for over 15 years. His field of expertise includes serving as audit committee chairman and trustee of medical aid pension funds as well as public sector entities.
