When Nomvalo took the helm in 2019, the accountancy profession, marred by scandals and waning public trust, faced formidable challenges. But with unwavering determination, he embarked on a transformative journey, focusing on rebuilding trust and restoring the integrity of the CA(SA) brand. His strategic vision and relentless efforts have been instrumental in propelling SAICA to the pinnacle of global recognition in the accountancy field.
A cornerstone of his tenure was his commitment to ethical standards. He understood that the bedrock of trust in the profession lay in unwavering ethical conduct. Under his guidance, SAICA intensified its efforts to uphold these standards, ensuring accountability and transparency. Technological advancement was another area where his leadership shone. The Ushintsho digital transformation project, a flagship initiative under his tenure, revolutionised SAICA’s operations, enhancing member experiences and setting the stage for a digitally integrated future.
Furthermore, his servant leadership style, focusing on human capital and fostering a motivated workforce, was integral in navigating the institute through challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
