Suzuki’s all-new Vitara Brezza is designed to be an urban vehicle with enough ground clearance to tackle concrete jungle potholes and curbs. Suzuki have taken the Vitara’s iconic exterior appeal and built on it to create a fun and almost easy-going appeal. The contemporary design pays homage to the Vitara’s lengthy compact SUV heritage through features like a roof rail and inverted U-shape lower grille. The brawny exterior is adorned with a touch of modern pizzazz thanks to the diamond-cut alloy wheels, auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors, and premium dual LED projector headlamps with dual-function LED daytime running lights standard on the GLX model.
The Vitara Brezza has an integrated chrome grille, headlamp eyelids, sporty fog lamps and a rear roof spoiler that adds an athletic stance to this compact SUV. The large windscreen and shorter side windows add to the SUV look while the lower black inserts on the doors and wheel arches hint at off-road sporty ability − making this a bit of a sheep in wolf’s clothing.
The Vitara Brezza looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside. The simple dashboard is easy on the eye, yet functional. The centre console is dominated by a 7” touchscreen display which enables intuitive operation of multimedia features such as audio, hands-free phone, reverse camera and smartphone integration. Features can be selected from the four main operating modes − Listen, Call, Drive and Connect. The touchscreen system is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirrorlink. By connecting your phone you’ll be able to make phone calls, access music, send/receive messages, get directions and access your smartphone’s features on the touchscreen display − all this via voice command or a tap on the audio display.
To add to this, Suzuki have added a cooler compartment in the top section of the passenger side dashboard for keeping your drinks and snack cool as you take on the urban traffic. The space in the Brezza is impressive for a vehicle measuring only 3,995 metres. It comfortably takes five occupants, but that said, the rear legroom can become cramped with three in the back. The space does not end there, as the Brezza also has a versatile 387ℓ luggage compartment that can be extended by lowering the rear seats.
The performance of the 1,5ℓ is perfectly coupled with a premium and sporty luxury-fitted cabin. But the driving experience shouldn’t just be good, it should be the best, and this is thanks to the user-friendly instrument panel which adds a touch of sophistication. From keyless entry to automatic wipers, this vehicle has all that you need to make your drive as effortless as possible, yet fun.
Overall, I believe that Suzuki has filled a gap in the urban SUV market with the new Vitara Brezza, which ticks all the boxes: looks, space, comfort and features. For urban cruising, in my book this is a winner.
