A few years back, I would have told you that I had everything that I had ever wanted. In four short years of being an academic at a world-renowned university, with lecturer score ratings significantly above average, research being recognised and published internationally and locally, setting SAICA’s professional exams, and authoring a textbook for a well-known publishing house − suffice it to say, I was blessed. I had the spacious corner office, I had my dream car, a dream apartment, a dream job.
