As I contemplate the events of that memorable night, from the intricate steps leading to my place at the finalist table to the exhilarating moment of being declared the victor and everything that ensued thereafter, I find myself pondering the impact and transformation that being recognised as the SAICA Trainee Trailblazer has had on my journey. What positive outcomes and experiences have unfolded since attaining this prestigious title?

Never did I anticipate finding myself in the offices of CEOs, partners and heads of department, receiving recognition for my outstanding work and exploring collaborative opportunities to foster growth and create a more profound impact.

Securing the accolade has cast me in the role of ‘That Guy’, embodying the hope and inspiration I’ve infused into my colleagues, peers, and family members. This newfound responsibility aligns with a cherished value system, as I genuinely hold the belief that those who possess the conviction to change the world are the ones who actualise it. Embracing the notion that I can effect change and make a meaningful impact, I aspire to inspire others to do the same. The accolade has not only opened doors for personal growth but has also presented my business with enhanced opportunities to expand and make a more significant impact through strategic partnerships.

SAICA actively contributes to making the accounting profession appealing through initiatives such as the Trailblazer awards, the Top 35-under-35 competition, the Difference Makers Youth campaigns, and numerous others.
