Meet our AGSA cultureshifters!
Sibusiso Maposa
Conscientiously caring and considerate of others is trainee auditor Sibusiso Maposa. With a passion for demonstrating our core value of We care for each other, he continuously went above and beyond, taking care of trainees writing exams by spreading his positive energy, delivering exam snacks, and even helping carry books and teaching other trainees about the organisation through presentations. Valued for his proactiveness and outgoing nature, one can find him as master of ceremonies for multiple events, joining in on community CSI initiatives and more.
Kopano Selema
Kopano is more than just the trainee auditor forum (TAF) chairperson at the Limpopo business unit. She goes the extra mile to ensure that trainees receive optimal assistance and serves as the swift liaison with training officers to optimise the training programme. She has further displayed her exemplary nature to the 2022 TAF committee by standing firm for what she always believes in. We can certainly trust that our country is in good hands with future leaders like her.
Nombuso Valashiya
Nombuso is a noted pillar of support to her colleagues. She implemented and carried the organisation’s #cultureshift2030 strategy well by influencing our auditees to move from awareness to action. Her great work ethic is evident as she challenges auditees continuously to do the right thing, professionally and personally, even if no one is watching.
S’thabile Motsa
Hitting the ground running as a first year, S’thabile joined the TAF committee instrumental in organising community outreach initiatives championing the school shoes and sanitary towels donation drives. Her leadership skills came to the forefront as she passed her ITC board exam, showcasing her balance of being a leader and achieving academic excellence. To date she has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at attracting new and young professionals to join the AGSA.
Simthembile Ndevu
Living the AGSA values, Simthembile has and continues to demonstrate a significant contribution to the success of the trainees in the entire organisation, and was recognised as an outstanding advocate for the Young Professionals Awards. He played a significant role in advocating for the interns and is an exceptional team member.
Tebatso Mhlongo
Tebatso’s outstanding commitment to his profession sees him consistently demonstrating his passion for his work, often going above and beyond to ensure his work is completed to the highest standard. Always upskilling himself and colleagues on the new trends of information technology in AI innovation, Tebatso is an active member of the IT auditors’ community, networking with peers to further his knowledge and understanding of his field. His dedication and enthusiasm for his work knows no bounds.
Thembalethu Mchunu
Thembalethu Mchunu is a trailblazer recognised by SAICA in 2021 and has since raised awareness on innovation, mentorship and mental health. He introduced the ITC success plan initiative aimed at improving the ITC results of his fellow trainees. He continues to mentor students in the accounting faculty of the University of KwaZulu-Natal and has contributed to the TA new strategy, creating Chair Drives − an initiative that calls a trainee per day to check up on them and monitor their progression, supporting those who may need it. His efforts and vision have put the AGSA on the map as the recognised employer of choice amongst students in the accounting field.
Sibahle Sishi
Trainee auditor Sibahle Sishi exemplifies the aspirations of our trainee programme by expanding her knowledge within audit as well as outside of audit − never limiting herself to the normal daily on-the-job tasks. Ever open-minded, her out-of-the-box-thinking allows her to balance her work and student life as an employee by day and student by night. This proved to be successful as she passed her ITC exam in April 2021 and her APC exam in 2022, both on the first attempts. She is a great leader, juggling being an audit team member, as well as a business unit TAF member, national TAF member and student.
Siphiwokuhle Ndlala
Siphiwokuhle’s work displays quality impeccability. He is selfless and kindhearted and always raises his hand to help without hesitation and goes the extra mile to assist trainees all while tackling the APT in preparation for his APC exams. During the past year he served as a mentor to first-year trainees completing their CTA training. Always willing to lend a hand, he provided his mentees with exam techniques, notes and emotional support, showing his care and commitment to the development of his fellow trainees.
Lisakhanya Nkomana
Lisakhanya, a finalist in the 2022 SAICA trailblazer competition, is putting the NCBUP on the map. She believes in creating outstanding initiatives such as the public speaking club, the toiletry drive, and gifting security personnel and cleaners on Workers’ Day as an act of showing our appreciation for their services. These initiatives teach invaluable lessons and make the trainee programme enjoyable for all. She is always seeking ways to uplift and upskill young talent and currently serves as the chairperson of the women’s forum in the BU.
Congratulations to these dedicated Young Professionals who continue to champion the vision as the AGSA of shifting the culture of accountability in the public sector. Through their pioneered efforts the AGSA continues to remain the Employer of Choice in the accounting and auditing field.
